Working with Contemplating Woman
I am working on a Fingerprint Portrait Commission for Rena’s father that Rena and her sisters have commissioned. They have resolved to work with a background like the one from my 1997 Contemplating Woman in Reds. This painting is still in my inventory. Having an inventory of 225 paintings is like having a candy story. I get to take paintings out to play whenever I want a nudge of inspiration or to change perspective.
Mykonos Woman in Landscape
Kim also has this one.
Woman in Landscape, 1997
Kim took the third of these from 1997.
sold 3 paintings today thanks kim
One of my best collectors Kim bought three inventory pictures today. She has the uncanny ability to pick little sweethearts. Here is one below, Mother and Child from 1997, oil on board. Another collector several years ago asked for a canvas version of this, a bit cleaner. Kim liked the raw feeling of this and so do I. One never knows when a painting will sell. In the past week I’ve sold five inventory paintings as a result of my recent web blast. I’ll have a painting ten years and then pop, it will go. I’m working on the e-commerce element of my site. I have seen very few art gallery websites that are tastefully done. I’m trying to create a nice environment for my works and to emulate gallery walls.
sold painting of Bobby Sheehan today
My friend Jenn bought a 1996 painting of Bob Sheehan, the late bass player of Blues Traveler, which I considered my home base band when I was making art for the music industry in and right after college. She also commissioned a small wooden Fingerprint Totem of herself and her son. Thanks Jenn.
sold Times Square Drawing
Thanks Julie
Katell Keineg
A recent massive spread in the NYT Magazine by Darcy Frey on Katell Keineg exposed me to this talented singer songwriter. Ms. Keineg’s work can be heard at www.katellkeineg.com, and as of today her songs are available at itunes. A decade ago she was primed to be the next it girl, the week after she signed her label went upside down unexpectedly and since she’s been struggling to make her music independently. Ms. Keineg has been through the music industry ringer, but noone can take her vibe away in songs like Partisan and Franklin. Although the production bridges occasionally temper Ms. Keineg’s range unnecessarily her beautiful voice and lyrics make me want to paint. Katell Keineg is a unique talent, it was long that I found her and she should be supported by we art and music lovers. The words you twist with melody I will paint to Katell.
